It's funny, but I remember seeing Metal Church T-shirts in high school back around '86 or so, thinking "man, those Satanists are everywhere!" Not only was I missing out on one kick-ass metal band, but once again, the mainstream's ignorance (as well as mine) put this odious label on a band that didn't even deserve it. Oh well, it was cool to be one of Lucifer's own back in the 80's. *huge grin* Now that I have awoken, I recognize Metal Church for what it was: a blistering speed metal band whose high points included frenzied drum beats courtesy of Kirk Arrington, along with those patented scratchy David Wayne vocals. And only one or two songs about the Dark One. (too bad...*smirk*)

More Recently:
After over a decade, the original lineup (almost) reformed and not only released a live album of the classic stuff from albums 1 and 2, but recorded a brand new release as well entitled "Masterpeace". Expectations were high to say the least, but ultimately it was disappointing. Some of the songs shred, and some suck. A half-hearted attempt that will probably be forgotten and certainly won't convert any of the hip-hop lovin' schoolkids who idolize the likes of Kid Rock. (severe wheezing and coughing heard)

Kurdt Vanderhoof: Guitars
Kirk Arrington: Drums, percussion
